Mississippi awards $3.8M stimulus contract
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. — Talbot Brothers Construction and Grading Inc. of Nesbit, Miss., was awarded one of the first federal stimulus projects in northwest Mississippi from the Mississippi Department of Transportation.
Talbot submitted the low bid of just under $3.8 million in May.
The Lafayette County project includes replacing three bridges on a realigned portion of Mississippi Highway 331. Realignment work often allows the department to improve the geometric design of the roadway.
Clearing and grubbing work is under way, and the project is scheduled for completion by April 8, 2011.
